How to Keep Your HanStone Quartz Countertops Pristine

At Classic Kitchens & Design, we understand the importance of preserving the beauty and integrity of every element in your kitchen or bathroom. As proud providers of HanStone Quartz countertops, we’re here to help you make sure your investment continues to dazzle and delight for years to come. To ensure your HanStone Quartz countertops continue to sparkle in your kitchen or bathroom, we’ve compiled industry-approved tips to help you keep your quartz countertops looking as captivating as the day they were installed.

HanStone Quartz Countertops

Made in Canada, HanStone Quartz Canada is the go-to choice for interior designers and homeowners alike. HanStone Quartz is a luxurious, high-quality material made from natural quartz, one of nature’s hardest minerals. HanStone offers unparalleled durability, and resistance to stains, scratches, and heat, making it an ideal choice for kitchens and bathrooms.

Daily Maintenance:

For everyday upkeep, opt for a mild soap-and-water mix or a solution of rubbing alcohol and water and a non-abrasive cloth to keep your surfaces pristine. The key is gentle care — never use Acetone or sealants on your countertops.

Natural & Synthetic Oils:

Kitchens are busy places where oils are commonplace. Oils left on any counter can leave them looking tarnished and reflect light poorly. Whether it’s olive oil or canola, a dab of soap and water or a swipe with a mild alcohol-based cleaner like Simple Green® All Purpose Cleaner or rubbing alcohol will keep your counters spotless.

Cosmetics:

Stains from cosmetics can be alarming, but they don’t have to be permanent. Soap and water, hydrogen peroxide (max 30% concentration), or rubbing alcohol can tackle these. Just ensure any hydrogen peroxide residue is fully removed to preserve your quartz’s shine.

Metallic Marks:

Fear not the accidental scuffs from pots or pans – HanStone recommends using a white latex eraser to gently lift these marks away, reaffirming the durability and resilience of your quartz. Remember, when cleaning any surface, the rule of thumb is never to apply pressure that is heavier than the natural weight of your hand.

Rust & Ink:

Stubborn stains like rust or ink require a bit more patience. First, start with a cloth soaked in oxalic acid or Bar Keepers Friends and apply it to the stain for 10 minutes or so. If the stain persists on your quartz, re-apply but do not leave on for longer than 30 minutes.

Food Colouring:

Whether it’s red wine, coffee or tea, mustard, or fruits, a combination of soap and water, rubbing alcohol, or a 50% bleach solution usually does the trick. For the toughest stains, hydrogen peroxide (max 30% concentration) can be a quartz-safe option.

Hard Water Deposits:

These can leave a cloudy residue on your HanStone Quartz. Combat this with vinegar or a non-abrasive scale remover solution.

Adhesives, Silicone, & Candle Wax:

For these stubborn stains, rubbing alcohol or specialized cleaners like Simple Green® or DAP® silicone remover offers effective solutions without compromising the integrity of your surface.
