Our Process.

With kitchen and bathroom showrooms in Nanaimo and Parksville, BC, Classic Kitchens has been working with developers on multi-unit, multi-stage developments since 2001. We provide thoughtful design at a competitive price on a reliable timeline for single family detached homes, custom homes, subdivisions, spec homes, townhomes, condos and apartments.

We focus on local manufacturing as much as possible. We carry two lines of semi-custom cabinetry – Lectus and Merit. Both lines are built by Merit Kitchens in their state of the art facility in Surrey, BC.

We carry four brands of quartz – Cambria, Hanstone, Silestone and Caesarstone. We chose these brands as we know what they are made of and where they are manufactured. We have developed a good relationship with the fabricators and are able to bring these to you at very competitive prices.

For natural stone surfaces such as granite, quartzite and marble we work with Matrix Marble and Stone out of Duncan.

For wooden countertops, butcher block and wide plank we carry Caribou as well as a couple of local Vancouver Island woodworkers. Depending on budget and application we will pair your project with the appropriate material and manufacturer.

1
Initial Consultation
  • Assess your goals
  • Review design styles and aesthetics to come up with a personalized functional design for your space.
  • Discuss Budget
  • Choose door styles and colors based on aesthetics and budget.
2
Preliminary Layout
  • On our second meeting we will review our preliminary design layout.
  • Typically the client and designer have refinements
3
Final Review and Quote Development
  • We can present full color 3D renderings to give you a sense of how the project will finish.
  • Once the design has gone through refinements, we have narrowed down the door style, color, countertop materials we are ready to present the final draft and quote.
  • This can take between 1-2 weeks to prepare depending on the scope of the project.
4
Manufacture
  • Once we have confirmed all designs, layout, and signed the contract for the project we can begin Manufacture. Typical manufacture lead times are approximately 6 weeks, however with the current 2021 supply chain disruptions we are experiencing 8-10 week manufacture time.
  • We will have a specific date for cabinet delivery and installation start date once we place the order.
5
Installation
  • The typical installation of cabinetry in the average kitchen in the average home takes four-five days.
  • If you are doing laminate countertops we typically install those at the time of cabinetry installation.
  • If you are doing quartz, granite, marble or custom butcher block, typically on day four of the installation our  team will template for your countertops and we will begin fabrication of the material.
  • Depending on materials chosen there is approximately four to eight week fabrication lead time from countertop templating to installation.
6
The Finish Line
  • Typically once the quartz / countertops go in we have completed the project. However, it is not uncommon for there to be installation refinements – especially in the case of a renovation.
  • Once you’re enjoying your new kitchen, we’d love to hear from you!

"Hats off to Tyler at Classic Kitchens Nanaimo for making our dream a reality. He elevated our ideas and concepts, tapping his expertise and design skills to create a beautiful and functional space. As a retired cabinetmaker, I recognize quality workmanship—and this quality was evident in both the construction of the cabinets and in the professional installation by Josh and Bobby; we couldn’t have been happier with their personable demeanor, attention to detail and pride in their craft. We absolutely love our kitchen and would highly recommend the team at Classic. Before and after photos are attached."

"Wow, What can I say, this company delivers. They have done my kitchen in the main house some years ago and I didn't hesitate to call on them to do my new guest house. The owner is a true professional. The office staff very friendly and efficient. What I loved most was the ease in working with Classic Kitchens and Design. Not only do they know their cabinets & handles but they coordinate with the granite counter top company, so everything is taken care of. All you need to do is give them an idea and they know exactly what to do. I wanted something totally different for my guest house and they loved the challenge. It came out fabulous. Their follow up is the best. Real perfectionists. No detail left to chance. Would use again in an instant."

"To the team at Classic Kitchens I would like to thank Martin Searle and Richard Rempel for designing and installing our beautiful new kitchen and laundry room. From start to finish both Martin and Richard inspired confidence and were professional and accommodating. They were both calm and collaborative when problems presented themselves and quick to offer solutions. They were patient with my last minute asks and did their best to accommodate them. I would also like to add that Richard was a most excellent house guest. I appreciated his willingness to make the project work by staying at our house. He was friendly and respectful. Aside from his manner he was meticulous in his preparation and work... something highly necessary when you are working on Salt Spring Island and not always able to access something you forgot without a trip back to the shop on the ferry. I appreciated his questions and advice when "on-site" choices needed to be made. The results speak for themselves. Thank you again! I look forward to working with you in the future on our bathrooms!
