Be Prepared for the Big Day:

Cabinetry installation is a detailed and highly skilled process. While the finished result may appear effortless, achieving a flawless, long-lasting installation requires careful planning, precision, and experience. With a skilled finishing carpenter handling your project, you are well on your way to enjoying a beautiful new space installed with care and craftsmanship.

Before Installation Day:

  1. Remove fragile or valuable items from surrounding areas
  2. Ensure a clear pathway from the entrance to the work area
  3. Keep pets and small children safely away from the workspace
  4. Ensure convenient access to a suitable electrical outlet for the installer’s power tools

What Happens on Installation Day:

  1. Installer unpacks cabinetry, panels, and moulding carefully
  2. Floor-standing appliances or fixtures should be accessible
  3. Cabinet doors and drawers are temporarily removed to prevent damage
  4. Custom cutting of panels, fillers, and moulding may occur on site; some noise and dust is normal

The Installation Process:

  1. Cabinetry is installed starting from the highest point of the floor to ensure level alignment
  2. Corner cabinets are typically installed first
  3. Cabinets are secured to walls and adjacent units; visible screw heads concealed with cover caps
  4. Base cabinets and pantry units installed before countertop measurements

Finishing Touches:

  1. Moulding, decorative details, and accessories are carefully installed
  2. Cabinetry putty may be used to fill gaps in moulding mitres
  3. Minor touch-ups such as paint or caulking may be required after installation

After Installation:

  1. Installer removes tools and cleans up debris
  2. Final light dusting may be needed at home
  3. Doors and drawers may need minor adjustments over time due to natural expansion/contraction
  4. Final walkthrough allows review of cabinet operation and minor adjustments
