Cabinets Care Guide
At Classic Kitchens & Design, we pride ourselves on offering cabinets that blend beauty with durability. Proper care ensures your cabinets remain as striking as the day they were installed and keeps your warranty valid.
For Wood and Painted Cabinetry:
- Use a soft cloth with mild dish detergent and warm water; minimize water use to avoid damage
- Avoid products containing ammonia as they can damage finishes
- Dry immediately after cleaning with a soft, dry cloth to avoid watermarks
- All finishes are protected by Merit’s clear finish topcoat; no additional oil or wax needed
- High-gloss painted finishes require a very soft cloth to prevent scratches
For Thermofoil and Laminate Cabinetry:
- Mild spray cleaner for thermofoil; mild glass spray cleaner for laminate to avoid streaking
- Avoid ammonia-based products and protect from steam and heat
What to Avoid:
- Sponges, dishcloths, or abrasive cleaning tools
- Harsh chemicals, strong detergents, and silicone-based products
- Extreme changes in humidity and temperature
Ensuring Longevity:
- Clean splatters immediately (grease, food, water)
- Regular cleaning even without visible marks
- Protect cabinets from moisture, heat, and light
- Use touch-up kits for minor scratches or nicks
