Countertops Care Guide
At Classic Kitchens & Design, proper care preserves the beauty and integrity of your countertops. Follow these tips to keep your surfaces looking as captivating as the day they were installed.
Daily Maintenance:
- Mild soap-and-water or rubbing alcohol-and-water solution with a non-abrasive cloth
- Never use acetone or sealants
Natural & Synthetic Oils:
Clean oils like olive or canola immediately with soap and water or mild alcohol-based cleaner
Cosmetics:
Use soap and water, hydrogen peroxide (max 30%), or rubbing alcohol; remove residue completely
Metallic Marks:
Use a white latex eraser to gently remove scuffs; avoid heavy pressure
Rust & Ink:
Cloth soaked in oxalic acid or Bar Keepers Friend; apply 10 minutes, do not exceed 30 minutes
Food Colouring:
Soap and water, rubbing alcohol, or 50% bleach solution; hydrogen peroxide (max 30%) for tough stains
Hard Water Deposits:
Use vinegar or non-abrasive scale remover solution
Adhesives, Silicone & Candle Wax:
Rubbing alcohol or specialized cleaners like Simple Green® or DAP® silicone remover
